Ricoh Electronic Devices Co., Ltd. began its life as a subsidiary of Ricoh Co., Ltd. in 1981 and incorporated as an independent entity in 2014. Headquartered in Osaka, Japan, the brand serves its global client base with facilities in China, Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United States. The CMOS analog component manufacturer, now part of the Nisshinbo Holdings conglomerate, fabricates its products in three factories located in its home country.
The company works to make electronic devices of the highest integrity, reliability, and quality. To that end, Ricoh obtained ISO 9001, 14001, 27001 as well as ISO/TS16949 certifications for its manufacturing operations.
Ricoh dedicates its research and design resources to develop cutting-edge new products for the automotive, consumer, industrial, medical, and IoT markets. LDO linear regulators, DC/DC switches, voltage detectors, watchdog timers, real-time clock devices, power management ICs, battery protection components, and controllers are highlights of the brand’s catalog.
One of Ricoh’s latest innovations is its R1801 family of buck DC/DC switching regulators. The firm created the component to enable the development of new ambient energy harvesting IoT devices. The line provides a minimum starting power of 0.72μW with 144nA of ultra-low quiescent current. Moreover, the series comes in a discrete DFN(PLP)2730-12 package for easy high-density mounting.
The brand also recently expanded its automotive catalog with the RN5T569 programmable multichannel power management IC. The component comes equipped with seven low-dropout regulators, four step down DC/DC converters, four general-purpose input/outputs, one I2C bus interface, and an interrupt controller. With an operating temperature range of -40°C to 105°C, the product is ideal for use in automobile audio and navigation systems.
Ricoh will continue to harness decades of engineering expertise, a passion for quality, and a global sales network to establish its brand across the world.
